You can carry rifles or suohgtns in your car, but they they must be unloaded. You can have a loaded magazine though as long as it is detached. This is an old hunting law. They didn''t want people hunting from inside of their vehicles. In my state you can also have a loaded pistol in your car as long as you have a concealed pistol license or you can carry it unloaded with the loaded magazine detached. Maybe we are in the same state WA?
